Portable Safe Briefcase
An Arduino hardware prototype combining access control with movement and location alerts.
Project credit · Ansak Mahir · university project team
A first-year University of Moratuwa hardware team project, shared through Ansak’s repository.
What it includes
Fingerprint and PIN access
The unlock flow checks a password and an enrolled fingerprint before operating the relay.
Movement and location alerts
Motion detection connects a buzzer alarm with GPS location retrieval and an SMS map link.
On-device controls
An LCD and keypad provide menus for unlocking, safe mode, object detection, and settings.
The challenge
A portable safe needs to control access and respond when it is moved. The prototype explores these requirements through sensors and an on-device interface.
The approach
The Arduino program combines a keypad, fingerprint reader, relay-controlled lock, motion sensor, GPS, GSM messaging, and an LCD menu.
The work
The prototype code includes fingerprint and PIN checks, a motion-triggered alarm, SMS location alerts, and ultrasonic object detection.
Software meeting hardware
This university team project combines sensor input, local interaction, and physical control in a single embedded program. Ansak’s project work is credited alongside the team context described in the repository.
It is presented as a hardware prototype, without claims of commercial deployment or certified security performance.
